L/C Monitor (LCM) is a quarterly legal financial journal covering practical aspects of trade finance such as Letters of Credit, Documentary Collections, and related payment instruments.
L/C Monitor was founded in January 1999 with a quote from Sun Tzu who said, "For to win one hundred victories in one hundred battles is not the acme of skill. To subdue the enemy without fighting is the acme of skill."
Much skill is required in handling letters of credit and other instruments used in international trade. The existing UCP provides uniform rules but does not answer every question, while the new International Standard Banking Practice for Examination of Documents has not yet been tested in the field. Now more then ever timely information is needed to succeed and prevent problems.
L/C Monitor's purpose is to share knowledge gained from practical experience with its readers. L/C Monitor's Editorial Board is comprised of top professionals from around the globe who handle documentary credits, standby letters of credit, bank guarantees, documentary collections, and surrounding legal issues on a daily basis and feel the pulse of the trading world. By reading the L/C Monitor you will learn from their case studies and creative problem solving techniques.
The SUBSCRIBE section gives full details on various subscription options. Annual subscription price for 4 hard copy issues is US$390.00. An electronic global subscription license for your organization is only US$1500.00 per year. Many banks make L/C Monitor available to their staff and their clients via their Internet portals. This provides excellent reference material and adds to customer services.
We hope that you will benefit from every issue of L/C Monitor and will excel at resolving problems before they arise.
